On average, it costs us $240 to provide a disadvantaged family with all the essential items they need for their child. If the family had to buy these items new, it would cost more than $900.  These items are essential for the safety, well-being and development of the children we help.

As a not for profit who receives no formal funding, we rely on the generosity of individuals, businesses and other community groups. We can’t do it without you, and we need your help.

Provide a safe place for baby to sleep for $250

Dandelion believes that every child deserves somewhere safe to sleep. The prohibitive cost of cots and bassinets, mean that many families cannot afford these essential nursery items. With your help, we can change that.

A safe cot or bassinet reduces the risk of babies co-sleeping with adults and other children, sleeping in unsafe spaces and ultimately reduces the risk of SIDS, falls and suffocation. In 2021 Dandelion rehomed 436 cots and 166 bassinets with families in need and the demand for these items is growing each month. We accept cots made after 2003 but unfortunately we never receive enough to meet demand.

Help a baby travel safely for $150

Dandelion believes that every child deserves to be able to travel safely. Unfortunately due to the prohibitive cost of car seats, many families in need cannot afford this essential nursery item.

Dandelion accept preloved car seats that are less than 7 years old and pass them on so families who can’t afford one, can travel safely with their kids. With this item in such great demand, we never receive enough to meet the need.

With your help, we can change that.

This gift can be life changing for a family in need. A safe car seat reduces the risk of babies travelling unsafely in out of date car seats or car seats which aren’t appropriate for the age of the baby. It will also allow the family to leave the house which reduces social isolation and improves the mental health of the whole family.

In 2021 Dandelion rehomed 682 car seats with families in need and the demand for these items is growing each month.

Dandelion believes that every family deserves to be able to travel safely and get out into their community.

A quality pram can help parents remain part of their community, and get out and about. We accept great quality prams and pass them on to families so they can stay connected.

Unfortunately due to the prohibitive cost of prams, many families in need cannot afford this essential nursery item. With your help, we can change that.

This gift can be life changing for a family in need. A pram allows babies and their families to safely leave the house, which reduces social isolation and improves the mental health of the whole family. In 2021 Dandelion rehomed 663 prams with families in need and the demand for these items is growing each month.
